Record A Song This Weekend!

While we may not agree as to whether new recording technology makes music better or worse (see Douglas Wolk's fantastic essay), I think we'd all be willing to admit that technology has made making music a whole lot easier, cheaper and more accessible. We can be more agile, impulsive, nimble, reactionary and spontaneous than ever before. Right? Well, that's the idea anyway.

So let's try!

Here at WCBE, we could have given you a mere 24 hours to do this, but we'll be generous and allow you the entire weekend in which to record an original song.

Here are the rules:

Your song needs to include ALL of the following words:

  • WCBE
  • Duct Tape
  • Columbus
  • Kid
  • Broke

Your song can be any genre or length.
Please include the name of the song and how you'd like to be credited. Send your songs to wcbe@wcbe.org with "WCBE Song" in the subject line.

All songs are due by this Sunday, October 7, 2012 at midnight.

We'll feature the songs during our fall on-air fundraiser as part of our local music shows, Ante Meridiem and The Global Village.

Thanks, and have fun!

P.S. - For a little inspiration, check out this song written by Wubbzy's songwriters for NPR's "Create A Song In A Weekend" challenge.
