Regional Jobless Rate Declined In May

The jobless rate in central Ohio fell by a tenth of a point last month to 3.8 percent. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says Franklin County had a jobless rate of 3.8 percent and Columbus' rate was 3.9 percent. The Cincinnati metro area had the next lowest rate at 4.1 percent. The agency says rates typically decline in spring as companies begin hiring for seasonal jobs.
