Next weekend the state’s leading anti-abortion group will be hosting a presidential candidate – and it’s not Governor John Kasich.
Ohio Public Radio's Karen Kasler reports.
Ohio Right to Life is promoting a morning event with Florida Senator Marco Rubio – who was among the 10 candidates on the GOP debate stage in Cleveland last week with Gov. John Kasich. Also listed as a headliner – state treasurer Josh Mandel, who’s the only elected statewide official to announce he’s publicly supporting a presidential candidate other than Kasich. Ohio Right to Life President Mike Gonidakis, who’s also a Republican strategist, says he personally supports Kasich, but that the group’s responsibility is bring in all pro-life candidates. He notes next month Ben Carson will be at a Right to Life event in Dayton. Gonidakis says Ohio Right to Life’s political action committee won’t make an endorsement till next year.
