Several school districts in Ohio are changing their operations because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Licking Heights High School switched back to virtual learning this week due to an increase in staff absences related to COVID-19. At least five staffers have tested positive and 174 others may have come in contact with someone carrying the virus. Circleville City Schools officials will transition to a remote learning model today, and it will last through the upcoming holiday break because of COVID-19. Officials plan for students to return to in person instruction on November 30. Centerville City Schools are preparing to move to a remote learning model on Friday because of the COVID-19 pandemic. A return to in-person instruction is possible on January 19th. The district has 120 cases of COVID-19 and over 800 quarantines since mid-August. Dayton Public Schools will take a six-week winter break with no classes before returning to school from January through June amid rising COVID-19 cases. The extended break ends on January 3rd. Classes with no non-holiday breaks will be held through June 29th to make up for the missed time.
