Shareholders Sue FirstEnergy Over Householder Bribery Scandal

Ohio Public Radio

Two new class-action lawsuits filed by Akron-based FirstEnergy shareholders claim they've been ripped off by company leaders.

They accuse executives of getting rich while bankrolling a 61 million-dollar bribery scheme.  The suits seek to reclaim nearly 8 billion dollars in lost stock value after the arrest of former Republican Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder on a federal racketeering charge related to the nuclear plant bailout law he championed.
