State Grants For Rape Crisis Centers

Ohio's attorney general has awarded $1 million dollars in new grant funding to rape crisis centers across the state.

Mike DeWine says 23 agencies will each receive a grant of more than $36,000 to help survivors of sexual assault. Among the recipients in central Ohio - OhioHealth Research Institute in Columbus, HelpLine of Delaware and Morrow Counties and The Domestic Violence Shelter in Mansfield. Officials say the grants mark the first use of Ohio's new Rape Crisis Program Trust Fund.  DeWine says a statewide training grant of $95,000 was awarded to the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence. The agency in Cleveland is a federally recognized statewide sexual assault coalition.
