Ohioans renewing driver's licenses or identification cards will see a new design this year. The new look is intended to make forgeries more difficult. Ohio Public Radio's Jo Ingles reports.
The salmon colored background on those cards has been replaced with one that’s a blue/green color. And the laminate on the front of the card is different too. It now contains the word “OHIO” and the year “1803” near the top of the card. Anyone who has a current license or state issued ID can still use it until its expiration. But anyone who doesn’t like the current card and wants a new one can get one anytime. This new driver’s licenses will cost nearly 26 dollars, with the state-issued ID available for eight dollars and 50 cents. Both can be obtained at any local Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
