State Lawmakers Consider Bill Ending Statute Of Limitations In Rape Cases

Ohio lawmakers are looking at removing the statute of limitations and other loopholes for rape cases.

A newly-introduced bill removes the statute of limitations and a provision of current law allowing spouses to have sex with their partners even if they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  The proposal comes not long after Governor Mike DeWine called for an end to the rape statute in the wake of allegations against former OSU team doctor Richard Strauss.  Ohio is one of 16 states that still has a statute of limitations on rape charges.
