State Suspends Pandemic Unemployment Benefits For Some Amid Fraud Probe

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Serviceshave suspended pandemic unemployment benefits for 276 thousand people as part of a fraud investigation.

State officials say the fraud involves using stolen identities to file claims. Investigators determined scammers were directing the benefits to accounts at several banks. Legitimately unemployed Ohioans are now being asked again to verify their identity and account in order to lift the suspension.
