State Unemployment Rate For October Up From September

Ohio's unemployment rate for October is 4.9 percent, an increase of a tenth of a point from the previous month and the same as the national rate. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services non-farm payrolls fell by 28 hundred last month to a revised figure of 5.5 million. The number of jobless Ohioans in October was 280 thousand, up by 5 thousand from the previous month. The state gained jobs in the manufacturing and construction sectors, while it lost jobs in the professional and business service, and trade, transportation, and utilities sectors.
