SUPCO Sends Traffic Camera Lawsuit Back To Lower Court

The Ohio Supreme Court has sent a class-action lawsuit challenging Cleveland's traffic camera enforcement system back to a county judge for further deliberation. The judge must first decide whether drivers had to use the city's administrative appeal process before suing for damages. An earlier appeals court ruling allowed the lawsuit to continue but did not address the issue of the administrative process  A 2014 Ohio law essentially banned the cameras by requiring police to be present when they catch speeding or red-light-running motorists. Columbus and some other municipalities are challenging the law.
