SUPCO Upholds Death Sentence Of Columbus Woman's Killer

State of Ohio

The Ohio Supreme Court has upheld the death sentences of a man convicted of killing his girlfriend's ex-husband and a man who killed a woman he lived with and her two children. The court has upheld the resentencing of Nathaniel Jackson, convicted in the 2001 murder of Robert Fingerhut near Warren. The resentencing followed the court's reprimand of a judge and prosecutor for teaming up to write sentencing orders for Jackson and Jackson's co-defendant, Donna Roberts. The court also upheld the death sentence of Caron Montgomery of Columbus in the slayings of Tia Hendricks and her 2- and 10-year-old children on Thanksgiving Day 2010. No execution dates have been set.
