SUPCUS Sides With Goodyear In Dispute Over Jury Award

The U.S. Supreme Court has sided with Akron-based Goodyear Tire & Rubber in a dispute over a 2.7 million dollar judgment the company and its lawyers were ordered to pay in a personal injury case. The conservative court sent the case back to a lower court to decide whether an Arizona family injured in a 2003 motor home accident is entitled to the entire amount.  The family sued after they were seriously injured when a tire on their motor home failed, causing it to crash. After settling the case in 2010, the family discovered Goodyear failed to turn over key testing data.
