Teen Boy Arrested In Northeast Ohio School Bomb Threat

Police have arrested a teenage boy who they say made a vague bomb threat that caused five schools in a northeast Ohio district to be evacuated.

Wickliffe police say the 15-year-old Wickliffe High School student called the police department's non-emergency line Tuesday afternoon and threatened "to blow up the school." The teen was arrested Tuesday night and transferred to the Lake County Juvenile Detention Center. Officers and canine units searched five schools in the area following the threat, and students were dismissed early. Police say the student's call was intended as a prank and officers found no devices or real threat to students' safety. They believe the boy acted alone. Police are recommending the student be charged in juvenile court with inducing panic and telecommunications harassment.
