The Ross County Historical Society will house the statute of former Ohio Governor William Allen. It has been moved from Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol, where it's been since 1887, due to Allen's support of Southern slave owners. It will be replaced by a statue of inventor Thomas Edison. The Edison statue will be installed today. State officials decided to replace the Allen statue in 2010.
