The Ohio Highway Patrol says a small plane crashed near an airport Sunday in Clark County, causing minor injuries to the pilot and two passengers.

The plane crashed in the area of a plant nursery shortly after leaving the airport in New Carlisle. The patrol says the 1958 Cessna model 172 plane was operated by Nathan McBride. Engine failure is the suspected cause of the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
