University of Akron Trustees have selected University of Toledo administrator Scott Scarborough as the school's next president. Scarborough takes over for Luis Proenza on July 1. Scarborough was chosen over two finalists, including former Ohio State football coach and current UA administrator Jim Tressel, who remains a finalist for the presidency at Youngstown State University.
