Trump Budget Could Hurt Efforts To Revitalize Lordstown Plant

The Trump administration wants to eliminate a loan program that could help an electric vehicle maker with its plan to reopen the former GM plant in Lordstown.

The administration's proposed budget calls for ending the Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing Loan Program. The administration thinks the private sector should take the lead on new commercial projects. Lordstown Motors is considering seeking a 200 million loan from the fund to reopen the plant to build electric trucks. The company says the fund is just one option under consideration.
