Sunday marked the eleventh straight day of police brutality protests in downtown Columbus.
No arrests or property damage are reported. A prayer march began at City Hall with Mayor Andy Ginther and members of law enforcement joining in a show of support. The march featured mostly men in suits who wore formal clothing to show they deserve a seat at the table. Meanwhile, Columbus City Council members Elizabeth Brown and Shannon Hardin are calling for the dismissal of charges filed against many of the 92 people arrested during the first five days of police brutality protests downtown. 34 were arrested for failure to disperse while 23 were arrested for violating the city's curfew that was rescinded over the weekend. The two say those charged should not be penalized for exercising their free speech rights. The City Attorney’s Office says it has already dismissed several curfew cases and is reviewing others.
