An Ohio Highway Patrol trooper has been indicted in Richland County on charges of mishandling seized prescription drugs.

Preston Brooks was fired in December after drugs he recovered during a traffic stop went missing. Another Ohio Highway Patrol trooper has been fired after a drunk driving arrest. David Shockey was fired for conduct unbecoming an officer following his arrest last summer. The patrol says he crashed into a car outside a West Carrollton bar and fled the scene.
