Vaccine Eligibility Expands; March 29th All Adults Can Get Shots

Beginning Friday March 19th, Ohioans age 40 and over, and people with medical conditions such as cancer, heart disease, chronic kidney disease and obesity can schedule a COVID-19 vacccine.  And starting March 29th all adult Ohioans will be eligible.

18 long-term mass vaccination clinics are opening up soon around the state. 3- and 4-day pop-up clinics are opening in Columbus and Cincinnati later this week, and will provide complete vaccinnation for 25,000 people.

According to Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, all Ohioans age 16 and over will be eligible for vaccinations by the end of the month.  Only the Pfizer vaccine has been approved for people as young as 16; the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines have been approved for people 18 and older.

  The governor was on hand for the soft opening this morning of the mass vaccination clinic at the joint state-federal program at  Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center.  The clinic opens with 1,500 shots.  It will increase another 1,500 per day to reach it's maximum capacity of 6,000 COVID-19 vaccines delivered per day.
