WCBE's Random Acts of Kindness Journal - Melodies at the Heritage Village

On April 30 we polished our voices and gathered our guitars, harmonicas, mandolin and dulcimer to perform for some elderly residents of Heritage Village at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus.

Marlane Bendum-Foor, John Marocchi and I presented acoustic interpretations of classics by John Prine, George Harrison, Johnny Cash and Neil Young, in addition to selections from the Americana songbook such as “Wildwood Flower,” “Bottle of Wine,” “Liza Jane” and “Old Joe Clark.”

We must've struck the right chord(s) as we were invited back for future performances!

Greg Moebius is lifelong Ohio resident and received his broadcast education at Ohio University. He's been up and down the radio dial with on-air stints in Zanesville, Athens, Nelsonville, Newark and, for the past 30 years, Columbus. His love of radio and music is apparent. Greg, currently a Westerville resident, spends his down time on Central Ohio's bike trails, festival-hopping and playing guitar with an amusing band of misfits known as The Highpoint Brothers.
