Women Linked To Columbus-Area Opioid Overdoses

Franklin County Sheriff's Office

Columbus police have charged two local women with one count of heroin possession each, in connection with a string of recent opioid overdoses. Police charged Sara Eberhard and Mallory Morman after searching an E. 17th Avenue home earlier this week. Inside, court documents show they found 17 hundred syringes, scales, plastic bags and 79 grams of heroin mixed with what is believed to be fentanyl. Investigators have not provided details on how the suspects are connected to at least 48 overdose cases in the last two weeks. Police believe the victims overdosed on a mixture of heroin and another substance, which officially has yet to be determined. An investigation continues, and police say additional charges are possible.
