Based here in Central Ohio, Black River Gypsies have a new release, "Night Fire Burns Innocence".

The release show will be at The Rambling House the evening of October 8.

The band consists of Lily Bloom, Ryan Combs, Sarah Diskin, Andy Frederick and Matt Sullivan, and they have recently returned from their pandemic hiatus.

He's out on the road with his latest release Keep 'Em On They Toes for the Shut Up And Sing Tour and we're happy he'll be making a stop in Columbus!

Summer Salt is the duo consisting of Matthew Terry (vocals and guitar) and Eugene Chung (drums).

Out of Texas, originally from Dallas, they have since relocated to Austin.

"Sequoia Moon", their latest effort, just came out in late June.

It was produced by Phil Ek, who has worked with acts like Modest Mouse, Built To Spill and Fleet Foxes.

Hailing from Australia, this alternative indie band is now touring in North America.

Consisting of Hannah Joy (lead vocals, guitar and piano), Tim Fitz (bass and vocals) and Harry Day (drums and vocals), this trio was just featured on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Friday September 24.

Columbus group Mingo will join us Live From Studio A in advance of their album release celebration for Fulton on Saturday at Natalie's Worthington!

Now back in Ohio, he's been working on new music.

The release, "Free", will be coming out in October.

He will be featuring music from this new release at The Rambling House on Sunday September 19.

Honey And Blue is Adam Darling and Stephanie Amber.

"Bloom" is the new release from this Central Ohio based act.

A new single, "Come In Close", featuring Spirit Of The Bear, is going to come out the same day as their performance here in studio A.

That will be one of the songs they play during this session.

They will return to Studio A before their show the evening of September 3 at Natalie's Grandview.

The Accidentals formed in Traverse City, Michigan By Sav Buist and Katie Larson when they were still in high school.

After that, they enlisted Michael Dause on Drums, Guitar and vocals to round out the trio.

Just a few years after forming, they found themselves opening for artists like Brandi Carlile, Andrew Bird and Dar Williams.

Don Everly, half of one of rock and roll's pioneering groups, The Everly Brothers, has died. The musician, known for singing close harmonies with his brother, was 84.

With hits like, "All I Have To Do Is Dream," "Wake Up Little Susie," "Bye Bye Love" and "Cathy's Clown," The Everly Brothers were a sensation in the late 1950s and early '60s as rock and roll became a cultural phenomenon.

Everly's country-influenced vocals, sung alongside his younger brother, Phil, stretched the possibilities of harmonies in early rock and roll.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tom T. Hall, the singer-songwriter who composed "Harper Valley P.T.A." and sang about life's simple joys as country music's consummate blue-collar bard, has died. He was 85.

His son, Dean Hall, confirmed the musician's death on Friday at his home in Franklin, Tenn. Known as "The Storyteller" for his unadorned yet incisive lyrics, Hall composed hundreds of songs.

Reverend Freakchild will return to WCBE to perform Live From Studio A

Nanci Griffith, a Texas-born singer-songwriter celebrated in folk and country-music circles for her crystalline voice and storytelling skill, died Friday in Nashville at age 68.

The news was confirmed by her management company, Gold Mountain Entertainment.

No cause of death or further information was provided, reportedly at Griffith's behest: "It is Nanci's wish that no statement or press release happen for a week following her passing."

WCBE is looking forward to having Columbus group The Floorwalkers back in the studio to perform Live From Studio A!

On his newest album, Never Too Late To Call, we find Southern rocker Paul Thorn reflective. Raised in Tupelo, Miss., Thorn worked as a professional boxer and factory worker before becoming a full-time musician in the late 1990s, releasing multiple studio albums since. But his latest record has been seven years in the making.

The Farmer & Adele are in town to play at Natalie's Worthington August 6th.

The show will get started at about 9pm.

Also coming up for them is a performance at The Adelphia Muisic Hall in Marietta on the 7th of August.

Formerly known as The Rad Trads, these guys are back in town to play a show at Natalie's Grandview on the first of August.

Also appearing will be the local act, Dawna.

After that, they will be staying in Columbus to play live in studio A the next morning.

They've put out some new music since their last visit to WCBE back in 2018 on The Global Village.

They have an album release show coming up at The Rambling House the evening of July 30.

"Back Of My Mind" is the name of their new effort.

They also have shows coming up in Chillicothe On July 31, and Pickerington on August 1.

It's been about two years since their last visit to studio A.

WCBE is looking forward to hosting Sean Woosley in The Repo Pilots Live From Studio A

He will be stopping by studio A to play a few songs before his show that night at Dick's Den with Bloodthirsty Virgins.

His release, "The Night Never Ends", came out last year, so we might hear some material from that.

He played all of the instruments himself on that release, but he will be performing as a trio here at the station.
