The Columbus Board of Education voted Tuesday to interview six applicants to fill a vacant seat.

The Columbus Board of Education is accepting applications to fill the seat of Mary Jo Hudson, who announced last week she is resigning at the end of the year.

In a surprise move Tuesday, the Columbus City Schools' Board of Education approved indefinitely shelving the bulk of the recommendations on school closings and consolidations put forth by its task force.
