Columbus City Council last night approved a 30 thousand dollar settlement of excessive use of force claims by a man stomped by a police officer while restrained last year.

A Franklin County jury has acquitted the black man stomped by a white Columbus police officer last year of firing of a gun into a Maize Road home after threatening the occupants.
