Columbus officials introduced the city's next police chief today. Elaine Bryant spent 21 years with Detroit's division. Bryant described herself as having a calling to serve the community and be a positive change.

Columbus' new police chief will be 48-year old Elaine Bryant, who has served as deputy chief in Detroit.

Columbus officials Wednesday night hosted a virtual community forum with the four finalists being considered to oversee the city's police division. 

The list of candidates in the running for Columbus' next police chief has narrowed to four, and the public will get their first chance to meet them at a virtual community town hall this week.

Interviews are being conducted this week with nine candidates for Columbus police chief, the first to be chosen from outside the department.
