Elkton Federal Prison

The U.S. Supreme Court has granted the federal government's request to delay the release of medically vulnerable inmates at a federal prison in eastern Ohio where hundreds have tested positive for COVID-19.

Former Cuyahoga County Commissioner and former county Democratic Party chair Jimmy Dimora has lost his bid  for early release from prison because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A Columbus man is the seventh inmate at Elkton Correctional Institution in Columbiana County to die of COVID-19. 

Governor Mike DeWine is sending Ohio National Guards members to the Elkton Federal Prison in eastern Ohio to help with the coronavirus medical crisis, following a formal request.
