Property Tax Abatement

Columbus City Council last night formally accepted 157 million dollars in federal CARES Act funding to help with economic and human service needs amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Columbus Board of Education Tuesday approved a tax abatement proposal from a for-profit subsidiary of Nationwide Children's Hospital -- and will offer a local charter network a lease on a dilapidated property "as-is".

Columbus City Council last night rejected placing two ballot initiatives before local voters this fall. 

A national developer that wants to revive a South Side industrial site is asking the Columbus City Schools to approve to a tax abatement that could bring the district equipment, scholarships and a property tax windfall down the road.
