Critics are giving low marks to a study of the state’s school report cards put out by a group of lawmakers.

Columbus City Schools will receive a "D" on the latest state report card, according to preliminary data from the Ohio Department of Education.

A new proposal would completely change the current state report card system. The bill would back off of the “A” through “F” grading scheme and offer a more comprehensive view.

School districts around the state were forced to change their standardized testing schedules because of a system malfunction earlier this week.  

Lawmakers are pushing for the state to take a closer look at the state report cards for school districts. But some are questioning the motive behind the review.
