Columbus police have released the name of an officer who shot and wounded a man during a traffic stop on the South Side on Monday. Police say 38-year-old Sergeant Matthew Streng shot 27-year-old Orlando Smith after Smith got out of his car and brandshied a gun following the stop. Police say tests are still being conducted to determine whether Smith fired his weapon. He is hospitalized in stable condition. Witnesses reported hearing nine gunshots.
