Ohio Governor John Kasich Thursday signed a bill creating a state tourism advisory board and fine-tuning pieces of the private job creation entity JobsOhio. Sponsoring State Representative Mike Dovilla says the measure creates TourismOhio, a program he says will help build the state's tourism industry. The pilot program will be funded with sales taxes, and the measure could could double annual spending to promote tourism. The bill also outlines more details to shape JobsOhio as it takes over economic development duties.
