Marysville School Board Approves Layoffs

The Marysville School Board last night voted lay off 50 staffers by the end of the year after voters last month rejected a levy. The board originally announced 35 layoffs, but that rose to 50 to help close a 2 million dollar budget deficit. 40 percent of the music program staff was cut, as well as 21 teachers, 11 classified positions and some administrative jobs.
