For 6 years, Ohio lawmakers debated but never approved a bill requiring insurance companies to pay for autism treatment for children.Now, Governor John Kasich has filed paperwork with the federal government that means Ohio insurers will have to cover autism…as they do other mental health issues. At a ceremony in Columbus Wednesday, Kasich's move was lauded by nearly a hundred legislators, parents,and activists. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports.
