A study by a nonpartisan health policy organization says expanding Medicaid in Ohio under the federal Affordable Care Act could save the state $1.4 billion over the next decade. The study by the Health Policy Institute of Ohio says the savings would dwindle by 2022, when Ohio's share of the Medicaid price tag increases. The report says 456,000 uninsured Ohioans would gain health care coverage by that time if the state expands Medicaid to cover more of those living above and below the federal poverty line. Governor John Kasich is expected to decide soon whether to expand the program
