Stafford Found Competent For Trial

A Summit County judge has ruled the last of five suspects in a plot to bomb a bridge over the Cuayhoga Valley National Park is mentally competent to stand trial.A pre-trial hearing is scheduled Thursday for 23-year-old Joshua Stafford. The judge ruled after hearing from psychologists who said Stafford is suicidal, depressed and wary of a dangerous world, but is able to assist in his defense. The four other defendants in last year's plot have been sentenced to prison terms of six to 11 years.
