Imprisoned Amish No Longer Must Take Classes

The U.S. Bureau of Prisons says the Amish imprisoned in beard-cutting attacks on fellow Amish in Ohio will no longer be required to attend high-school equivalency classes while serving their sentences.67-year-old Amish bishop Samuel Mullet and his followers are now exempted from a policy requiring classes for inmates who lack high school diplomas. The decision came after Mullet's attorney complained the policy violated his client's First Amendment rights.
