Pottery Thief Sentenced

A Columbus man who admitted stealing rare pottery from Ohio State University and selling it to an antiques dealer has been sentenced to eight months in jail. 56-year-old Christopher Skeen says he was under the influence of heroin when he stole the pieces from a display case in a university library last year. The pieces include a vase valued at 10 to 15 thousand dollars, and two others valued at between 3 and 5 thousand dollars each. The antiques dealer resold the pieces, but they were returned to the school and Skeen was ordered to pay restitution.
