The Ohio Court of Claims has ruled Miami University is not liable for injuries to a Connecticut woman hit in the head by a stray hockey puck during pre-game warm-ups last November. Emily Austin sought 200 dollars from the school to cover her medical insurance deductible. The University says Austin assumed the risk of being struck by a hockey puck when she entered the arena. It also said the arena has protective glass and boards, and spectators are warned of the risk.
