Another Columbus motel is out of business after being declared a public nuisance. Columbus police padlocked the Red Carpet Inn on Dublin Granville Road yesterday, following a judge's order. Police say the motel was the scene of 600 drug, prostitution and violence calls over the past two years. The facility will remain closed until at least next week, when prosecutors plan to ask the Franklin County Environmental Court for sanctions that will last longer. Police shuttered the nearby Columbus Inn and Suites last summer for similar violations, and a judge yesterday ruled that facility will remain closed until at least January of next year.
