Man Posthumously Awarded Medal For Heroism

A Columbus man who drowned trying to save a boy from a frozen pond has been awarded the Carnegie Medal for heroism. The Carnegie Hero Fund Commission has honored 30-year-old James Jenkins for risking his life to dive into a pond at an East side apartment complex to rescue 5-year-old Elijah Walker last year. Neither Jenkins nor Walker survived.
