Portion Of I-270 Renamed For Fallen Soldier

Part of the outerbelt has been renamed for the U.S. Navy pilot from Columbus who died trying to save his crew four years ago. Part of I-270 in northwest Columbus near Sawmill road has been named the Lieutenant Miroslav Steven Zilberman Memorial Highway. Zilberman's death in Afghanistan came after he steadied a disabled plane long enough for his crewmates to eject. The act of heroism earned him the Distinguished Flying Cross.
