Former P&G Chief Nominated To Run VA

President Obama has nominated Bob McDonald, the former CEO of Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble, as head of the Department of Veterans Affairs, which is dealing with reports of lengthy waiting times and mismanagement.

McDonald says he is committed to helping revamp the agency.

The nomination comes days after an Obama Administration report portrayed the VA as a struggling agency battling a corrosive internal culture, lacking in resources and ill-prepared to deal with an influx of new and older veterans with a range of medical and mental health care needs.
