Judge Orders State Payment To Government Services Firm

The Ohio Court of Claims has awarded a government services firm 1.3 million dollars after the state canceled its contract with 99 percent of the work completed. At issue was a 53 million dollar contract between the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and Dynamics Research to develop a child-welfare information system in 2004. The Court of Claims ordered the payment after the company filed a lawsuit challenging the amount of its final payment when the state terminated the contract.
