Franklin County Sheriff

Bond was raised yesterday from 1.1 to 2 million dollars for the Galena man accused of beating and strangling his pregnant girlfriend. Police say 23-year-old Jacob Ferrero confessed to killing 22-year-old Samantha Greenlee and her fetus October 8. Prosecutors asked for a higher bond out of fear Ferrero would flee to Mexico. And Franklin County prosecutor Ron O'Brien says this is not a death penalty case.

Defense attorney John Lloyd says the family of his client is concerned about him and the victim's family. Lloyd says he has yet to see evidence his client is a flight risk because the discovery process has yet to be completed.

Police say Ferrero led investigators to where he buried Greenlee's body, near a suburban church.
