Levy Defeat Forcing Layoffs Of Franklin Township Firefighters

Franklin Township fire officials are laying off 5 firefighters today after voters rejected an operating levy on Tuesday. The department is facing a 700 thousand dollar budget gap. Overtime will no longer be paid to remaining firefighters. Columbus and surrounding cities may have to respond to some fires in the Township as a result of the layoffs.
