Calling it a prudent and efficient budget, Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman today unveiled his 2015 spending proposal.

Under Coleman's proposal, the city would spend $546 million on public safety.  Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs says she's pleased with the proposal.

Maintaining city services and spending levels seemed to be the theme of the entire proposal - with one exception.

The city would also deposit $2.2 million in the rainy day fund, bringing its total to $67 million. Columbus City Council Finance Committee Chair Prescilla Tyson says the budget meets the needs of residents.
