Ohio W.W. II Vet Recognized By France

Toledo Blade

A World War II veteran from Toledo is being recognized for his role in liberating France from Nazi forces.  96-year-old Erro "Mike" Michelson has received the Legion of Honor, France's highest award. Michelson flew 53 missions over Germany, Poland, Norway and France.  He also earned several other awards, including a Purple Heart, Silver Star, and Distinguished Flying Cross.
