OSU Denies Defaming Waters

Ohio State University is denying in court filings the defamation claims raised by former marching band director Jon Waters. The school is asking a judge to dismiss his 1 million dollar lawsuit. The university denies it escalated negative publicity about Waters through press releases, and says Waters engaged in a national public relations campaign. Waters' lawsuit claims the school has damaged his reputation to the point where he cannot find work. The suit also alleges slander and violations of privacy.
