Woman Sentenced For Running Cancer Hoax

The Mechanicsburg woman convicted of faking brain cancer and accepting donations to help with expenses has been sentenced to a year in prison. 34-year-old Heather Gaus must also make 3 thousand dollars restitution to more than 30 victims. Community members, online donors and a local Fraternal Order of the Eagles chapter raised money in 2013 for Gaus.
